Constructed of rigid acrylic and designed with Embedded Optics Technology for a balance of brightness and contrast in uncontrolled indoor lighting conditions. Can be used in conventional in-wall projection, framed, or freely suspended by thin wires for eye-catching open air “floating” displays. Because of its ability to present bright and colorful images in ambient light, it is a popular choice for shopping malls, retail stores, bowling alleys, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, hotels, airports, real estate offices, theater lobbies, etc. Available in all sizes or shapes up to 76” x 135” or can be tiled to any size via a special cable suspension system.

When a light beam strikes a material, some light is transmitted, some reflected, and the rest is absorbed. Light transmission depends on the reflectance at both surfaces of the material and the absorption of light into the material.
Each sheet color’s light transmission decreases with an increase in thickness. The percentage of light transmission for all thicknesses of a given translucent or transparent color other than white is the same. This is accomplished by adjusting the colorant concentration according to sheet thickness.

The special optical properties are obtained by incorporating spherical, high molecular weight polymer beads with a different refractive index into the acrylic matrix.

The difference in refractive indices changes the direction of light travel within the manufactured part. The net result is an even distribution of light exiting the part. Traditional pigmented acrylics diffuse light by blocking or reflecting it backwards, thus reducing the transmitted light by as much as 30%.
